HARLYN SELF CATERING FLAT is attached to the owners charming old 19th century home, with beautiful views of the South Atlantic Ocean, late evening sunsets – with rare siting of the “green flash” – and the night sky is always lovely to behold.
HARLYN SELF CATERING FLAT, established in 1989, has entertained several hundred visitors//tenants over the years, since then.
The comfortable, homely atmosphere, has often enticed folk to make return visits. A very pleasing testament to its ongoing reputation.
“HARLYN” is located just off the main Half Tree Hollow road, some 2 miles and less than a 10 minute drive down to Jamestown and some 20 – 30 minutes up into the beautiful countryside. An approximate 30 minute drive will get you to the St. Helena Airport in Longwood.
This location is also ideal for going on various Post Box Walks and walking the famous (699 steps) Jacob’s Ladder as well as viewing Ladder Hill Fort, overlooking Jamestown and much more – all to help the visitor to discover the lifestyle and culture of St Helena Island.
The Flat offers a spacious Bathroom fitted with a BATH – SHOWER – WASHING MACHINE, toilet and storage facilities.
A large BEDROOM has a double and a single bed. Very adequate wardrobe, and storage space, caters easily, for 2 persons for both personal and household belongings.
A landline telephone is also in this room. No Wi-Fi available but a strong 4G connection is possible.
The recent building extension, has greatly enhanced the “open plan” KITCHEN, DINING and LOUNGE area, all fitted with the necessary “ mod cons” and provides all the essentials requires for a comfortable homely stay.
A television set is an extra in the lounge area.
Unfortunately this 1826 year old house is not wheelchair friendly.
The Front Door of the Flat leads directly onto the large verandah of the Proprietor’s residence, where everyone is free to relax ……. and watch the world go by!
Tropical trees and shrubs surround the small flower garden, providing a little “oasis” in this somewhat warmer area of the island.
There is very adequate and safe, PARKING space on this property.
In the near vicinity of “Harlyn”, (some five minutes away) there are places to eat e.g. “ROSIE’S
RESTAURANT, TASTY BITES and ISLAND IMAGES – each also provide Wi-Fi services.
Jamestown also has a variety of eating places, such as ANNE’S PLACE – THE BLUE LANTERN – HARRIS’S GUEST HOUSE, THE WELLINGTON, THE ORANGE TREE, MANTIS and THE CONSULATE HOTEL. These venues also offer Wi-Fi services.
There are also several TAKE-AWAY businesses on offer.
Further afield in the country areas are a few very pleasant places to go and have meals.
CHARGES FOR HARLYN FLAT
Rates as from 1st April 2018 – (to be reviewed annually)
SINGLE OCCUPANCY – £35 per person per day
DOUBLE OCCUPANCY – £60 (per couple sharing) per day.
Once booking is confirmed 20% deposit should be sent to the proprietor – which also acts as a CANCELLATION FEE.

ARRIVAL / TRANSFER ARRANGEMENTS
The Proprietor will arrange for a designated driver to collect tenants with their baggage, from the St Helena Airport – and transport them to “Harlyn”.
The drive across country will introduce you to many interesting vistas along the way.
